A duplex apartment can be a good compromise between a private house and a high-rise apartment. Our client is a young family who wants to live in a stylish and colorful space, away from the hustle and bustle of the center of the capital.
The kitchen-living room occupies 30 m² on the ground floor. The interior of the room is the embodiment of the idea of balance between rich accent colors and basic shades that serve as the basis for the design. The space was zoned by the arrangement of furniture – a sofa separates the living room, behind it is the dining group and the kitchen with an island bar counter.
The bedroom is located on the second floor, in a spacious room with large windows. The interior is done in light colors with accents in turquoise and wood elements. The recreation area – with a brick wall and bright bedding – is decorated in a common concept with the kitchen-living room. There is a free space near the bed for a baby cradle – in case there is one more person in the family.
The idea of equipping an office on the balcony can give you a favorite corner for productive work. In a small space, there is no place for anything superfluous – which means that nothing should distract you. An additional plus is the ability to enjoy the view from the window, this is important during long-term work at the monitor. Roller shutters are lowered to the floor, which will be useful when the sun is too bright or when working at night. Also, the issue of privacy can be solved by additional processing of glass in the lower part of the walls (to make them translucent).
The bathroom on the ground floor is located under the stairs – this factor determines not only its small area (only 2 m²), but also the non-standard shape of the room, which one does not want to hide and “level out”. There is a bathroom on the second floor, so there is no need to make the bathroom on the first floor more functional.
For the design of the hall and stairs, they chose wall decoration with decorative white brick, a wardrobe with blue elements, as in the bedroom, wall decor with paintings and spotlights. Simple and concise.
